Focus on what is important

Focus on what is important

When working on our online Internet marketing business, it's very important to stay focused and productive. The more we can focus on the task at hand, the more we can focus to complete everything we need to do in a given time or in a give day or what ever time we set to complete any task or goal.

This system will assist us to reach our Internet marketing business productive oriented goals. Whether we're searching or researching a new niche, setting up our own new or improved website, spending time emailing, blogging or making new connections on any social media, the following five tips may make it much easier for us in the future and assist us to stay productive and eventually earn more income.

Find out how we best use our time with the use of a timer.

To manage our time, there is no better way than to get a very clear picture of how we're actually using that our time and when I say this I mean every minute of our time we spend working on our own Internet marketing business. Every minute that we spend on our present task at hand (work) we should make it accounted for. Without a timer that keep us on the alert it's very easy to sit down for hour doing what we can call work and find ourselves wasting away each and every minute and hours by chasing never ending links that takes us away from doing what we really have to do.

That is easy to do even when we chat on any social media and we use any excuse to convince ourselves that is work when instead is just wasting time because is not creating us any income from our Internet business.

Checking email half dozen times during the day is another way we can easily waste a lot of very valuable and productive time away from our Internet marketing business. There is many options available to track time, we can find them online, but they will not do any good to us unless we follow them correctly and diligently.

When we find one program that we are comfortable following and works for us, we should start by estimating the amount of time that we'll need to complete different tasks at hand and then hold ourselves accountable to that specific time making certain our timer can be seen from where we're working so we can stay focused on the specific task at hand.

The Bob Proctor technique.

By expanding on the timer point above, we can use our timer and use what I call the Bob Proctor technique. The technique, which I was exposed when I attended the Million Dollar Forum in April 1991 in a chalet type inn on the Laurentian Mountain, in Quebec., is a simple way to break down every large task or goal or job or program into smaller components that we feel comfortable to act or work on and so we'll have a better opportunity to stay productive and accomplish our goals much faster and on time.

Setting a timer and work on one task for 30 to 45 minutes at time is one way I like to do it at the moment, but you can set the timer at your own pace. Once the time we set is up, it is best that we take a short break for five to 7 minutes. After that, once we get back to work, it is best that we set the timer every 30 minute intense work time, and when the time is up, we reward ourselves by taking longer breaks if that is what we desire to do... in my experience, I found that it is great to take systematically breaks and stick to my set time to work and then reward my self once the set working time or the working day is over. This is a great way for me to stay focused and it helps my brain relax in between work sessions so I can actually end up working longer and accomplish a lot more... hope you can use it as well..

Changing work location.

From time to time I get the urge to change work space... I now live in a cottage country and live in a two bedroom 1000 sq feet cabin so it is great to work in different locations such as on the deck, or by the river or just under a tree. If you find that it is not easy to stay focused at the regular desk space or any other work location you have chosen, do somewhere new from time to time.

Go ahead and spend time at your Local Park or backyard or library. Visit your favourite Indigo or Chapter book store where they have places to sit and study/work with Internet WIFI access. Once you make some simple changes, you will soon find what is best for you and so from time to time you ca reward your self doing some changes and become more productive in your Internet business.

Many times all you need to do to re-fresh and re-focus is make simple changes or find a different scenery that bring you harmony. To keep up with productivity, I make a point to make some changes every few days and work in a new location and when I find my self unproductive for a certain period of time, I make changes even daily and once a month I even go out to eat at a restaurant where they serve vegan meals to reward my self and at the same time take the opportunity to find new places where I can go to work when I want to change scenery.

Make accountability a must.

Working on any projects or goals on our own makes it easy to find any excuse to procrastinate and put things off for some times and some times for ever. I found out that one of the best ways to stay focused is to have to answer to someone else. In my instance, since I live alone most of the time, I do it by email or Skype but if you live with some one or you have a special friend or best friend close by consider using them (willingly :-) as an accountability partner.

Once you do that, you can make a point to report to him/he periodically or at any time both decide to be best. I suggest that time to be on a daily basis. So make it a point to share what you are working on and what you will be accomplishing on a daily, weekly or monthly basis and then report to them about progress or luck of it.

Remember that knowing that you have to report to some one else... it make it hard to drop the task or goal or program and so you keep going and stay much more focused.

All the above will not happen unless we start with the end result in mind.

When I find to be difficult to work through some tasks that I find then in my liking, focusing on the end result or goal will assist me getting going. That is why I use visualization to explore deeply of what I like to achieve and see my self successful with my thriving Internet marketing business. I clearly visualize how it feels like to achieve my ultimate goal. What sort of income do I expect to earn. What kind of lifestyle I like to have.

By keeping the visualization alive and all the rest vividly in my mind, I can continue through those boring tasks that usually hold me back and stay on track and productive.

Hope all the above helps you as much as it helps me and more...
